Hate mob attacks Jungle star Khan
I’M A Celebrity star Amir Khan received death threats for treating his daughter to a Christmas tree.
The devout Muslim shared a video of decorations in his home on Instagram.
He told fans: “While everyone’s asleep daddy put the Christmas tree up.”
He added that his three-yearold daughter Lamaisah was “going to be happy” and added the hashtags #Christmas and #MerryChristmas2017.
But strict followers of Islam laid into the former world boxing champion, branding him a “kuffar”, or non-believer.
Fuming
One ranted: “I promise to God I want kill you and your family Amir.”
Another said: “You are Muslim and you celebrate Christmas!!!” accompanied by a string of “fuming” emojis.
Another said: “Prophet Muhammed said the Muslims should not imitate the kuffar.”
Many UK Muslims celebrate Christmas, as well as Islamic Eid, because Islam recognises Jesus as a prophet.
Some sprang to 31-year-old Khan’s defence.
Fan Dippa said: “Unbelievable how cynical everyone is for daddy Amir who clearly stated that his intention in putting up the tree was to make his daughter happy.
“His intentions aren’t to attend mass in any church!
“Can someone applaud this gentleman for simply working hard as a provider father who has perhaps already set up the nursery and bought tons of gifts for Lamaisah and for the unborn baby.”
Another follower added: “Half you lot commenting gnna be out Christmas Eve partying and counting down to Christmas at midnight in the club lol.”
After returning from the TV Jungle Amir is expected to spend Christmas in the UK with his daughter and his wife of four years Faryal, 26.
The couple recently reunited and Faryal is expecting their second child.
