CHRISTMAS is the season of goodwill and thankfully that’s the case in the Gallagher family.
Liam has apparently ended the world’s most famous beef by reconciling with brother Noel.
The pair have barely spoken since a backstage row in Paris in 2009 ended their hit band Oasis.
But this week Liam suggested they were hooking up for a mince pie, tweeting: “I wanna say Happy Xmas to team NG.
“It’s been a great year thanks for everything looking forward to seeing you tmorrow.”
Asked if he’d spoken to Noel directly, Liam responded: “He’s already reached out. We’re all good again.”
Anyone following the Gallagher melodrama knows they enjoy telling a few porkies, so it wouldn’t be surprising for fans to take the comments with a pinch of salt. However, a source close to Liam confirmed to me: “Liam is saying it’s peace and love from his side of the fence. “War is over. It’s Christmas and life’s too short.” The comments echo the pair’s favourite songwriter John Lennon, below, whose hits include Happy Christmas (War Is Over) and Give Peace A Chance. The news comes after 12 months of bitter vitriol, with Liam calling Noel a beige “potato” and Noel retaliating by labelling him as psychotic. Of course many believe the entire spat was stage-managed from the start, like a good pantomime. Noel has yet to confirm the reconciliation but a few years ago admitted: “I say I hate Liam all the time but never mean it.” Let’s all Live Forever and have that Oasis reunion one day.
