ALIENS could be watching our every move – but we’re too boring to bother them.

Former UFO investigator Nick Pope believes ETs that are far more advanced than us may already have us under surveillance. His comments came after the excitement over the discovery of Oumuamua, a cigarshaped asteroid that some scientists thought could be an alien spaceship.

Because of its unusual shape, researchers even scanned the 400-metre asteroid for alien technology.

And although the scans did not flag any signs of life, Nick, who used to run the MoD’s UFO project, thinks we cannot rule out the idea that our planet is being watched.

He said: “If this ship is an alien probe, it’s possible that our scans will awake the intelligence inside.

“Simply put, any alien ship searching for life may go into a dormant mode until it gets close to an inhabited planet.

“But what’s fascinating about this theory is just how many astronomers and other scientists are taking the idea seriously.”

And it is not just sci-fi geeks getting excited as even US defence experts at the Pentagon have been conducting research into UFOs and alien life.

Nick said: “The take-home message here is that there’s probably something out there, but we don’t know what it is.”
