Evans given deal warning

WEST BROM will sell captain Jonny Evans next month if he refuses to sign a new contract.

The Baggies have made the Northern Ireland star a £100,000-a-week offer to extend his contract, which is due to expire in 18 months.

But if he refuses to sign, Albion are ready to cash in on the 29-year-old

Manchester City and Arsenal are both keen on the former Manchester United man, who West Brom value at more than £25m.

“I think you have to be realistic in these situations,” said Pardew.

“Jonny is a top player. Other clubs were interested in him in the summer.

“We know that and he knows that, we have to be intelligent and straightforward dealing with it.” Pardew admits even big money might not persuade him to stay. “He is under contract for West Brom,” said Pardew. “He knows he can have those conversations (about a new deal) with us. “We will give him the best deal we can possibly go to on the financial side and length of contract, but that might not be the whole thing with Jonny.” Meanwhile, Pardew admits he banned his struggling squad from holding a Christmas party. The former Crystal Palace boss ordered his players to shelve any party plans when he took over from Tony Pulis. “I said to the players when I arrived I don’t think Christmas parties are appropriate in the position we’re in.”
