CHILL FACTOR FOR SI AFTER YEAR OF HELL

Weary Cowell’s sunshine cure

- By JERRY LAWTON

SIMON Cowell has quit Britain for Barbados to recover from a nightmare year including a health scare and violent feud with a neighbour.

The X Factor guru will spend a month chilling out in the Caribbean to “recuperate”, according to his brother Tony.

Cowell, 58, said he needs to spend “precious time” with his partner Lauren Silverman, 40, and their three-year-old son Eric after a tough few months.

First he had to pull out of an X Factor live show in October after falling downstairs when he fainted due to low blood pressure.

He said that the fall had reminded him he was not invincible and that he had a responsibility to take good care of himself for his young son’s sake.

Earlier this month a furious neighbour threatened to smash up Cowell’s luxury cars with a golf club after seeing red over the music mogul’s parking.

Police were called when the row blew up as Cowell was about to leave his £2.5million home in Kensington, west London, in a black Rolls-Royce. He has also been under pressure due to The X Factor’s plummeting ratings.

Tony said his brother will spend Christmas and the New Year relaxing in a luxury villa in the Caribbean where he will be waited on by a personal butler, maid and chef. He is taking dogs Squiddly and Diddly with him on his private jet.

After a New Year party at the island’s exclusive Sandy Lane Hotel the family will spend the rest of their trip touring the islands on the luxury yacht Slipstream, which boasts an outdoor hot tub.

Tony said: “After a year that included a dramatic health scare and fights with nightmare neighbours, Simon is finally safe on his favourite tropical island Barbados.

“Christmas and New Year is the one time Simon takes a whole month away from work.
