BUSY BEES LOVE GOOD VIBE

Classy Lasse sinks Canaries

-

LASSE VIBE has a masters degree in business – and he cashed in with a flourish at Carrow Road last night.

The deadly Danish hitman struck twice in five first half minutes as Brentford dismantled the dodgy Norwich defence.

It was all too much for Canaries fans, who savagely turned on their team and majority shareholder Delia Smith at the end.

But it was all smiles for Brentford and Vibe, who has twin boys and definitely specialises in doubles when it comes to goals, too.

He scored twice at QPR recently and the two goals took his tally for the season so far to four.

The creaking Norwich backline had struggled from the start to keep Vibe and his partner in crime Ollie Watkins quiet.

With just three minutes gone, Watkins set the alarm bells ringing by cracking a curler against the post from 25 yards.

On-loan Manchester City keeper Angus Gunn then made a terrific save from a Watkins header after a great cross from Vibe.

But the busy Bees double act simply refused to be denied and, after cranking up the pressure, the breakthrough they deserved duly arrived after 36 minutes.

Norwich criminally failed to clear their lines yet again and Vibe slid the ball home from six yards with Gunn helpless.

Then Gunn, who was responsible for keeping the visitors down to the one goal as his defence fell apart, made another save to deny Vibe.

But he couldn’t hold out and the Bees brought Norwich to their knees with a killer second goal before the break.

Midfielder Romaine Sawyers set Vibe up with a through ball and he again finished in style.

Norwich had their chances in their own first-half purple patch against the side they battered 5-0 at home last season.

But midfielder Mario Vrancic, striker Nelson Oliveira and centrehalf Timm Klose all failed miserably to cash in.

Brentford simply shut up shop after the break, especially after goal hero Vibe limped off with a hamstring injury.

Vrancic hit the bar late on before top scorer Oliveira salvaged some pride with his seventh of the season in stoppage time.
