We’ll do you all a big favour!

The No.1pullout that scores EVERY time JOHNSON PLEDGE TO RIVALS

- By JASON MELLOR

BRISTOL CITY boss Lee Johnson wants his side to do the rest of the Championship a favour by ending Wolves’ title march.

Wolves will go 11 points clear of City with victory at Ashton Gate today.

Johnson said: “It’ll be a tough game but we will do everything we can to get a result for the City faithful.

“They have spent a lot of money on their squad.

“It’s alright spending money but you have to get the right players and they have built a fantastic squad.

“I think, from the league’s point of view, it’s important we win the game, to bring Wolves back into us and the rest of the teams.

“It’s a big game and the players have to recover, rest up and be ready, including our young lads.”

City’s fans roared their team to a famous Carabao Cup win over Manchester United this month and Johnson wants them to generate another wall of noise this evening.

The City boss added: “A lot of money has to be shelled out at Christmas, so it was a great crowd against Reading and we’re very appreciative.

“We will need a similar type of atmosphere to the United game and the second half against Reading, because Wolves are a top, top side.

“Our fans have been excellent and we need them again. It’s another night game and should be a great atmosphere.

“It’s still relatively early as far as league position is concerned, but we will do our best to keep churning out performances and hope those will produce results.”

Meanwhile, Johnson has revealed he plans to hit the January sales to bolster his injury-hit squad.

He said: “Hopefully we can do a couple of bits in January, short term, to see us through.

“It’s difficult because, with the resources we have and the way that we pay, there’s not really a huge market out there for us.” BRADFORD defender Nat Knight-Percival (hamstring) and Jake Reeves could return, but Jordan Gibson (groin), Adam Chicksen (hamstring), Colin Doyle (knee) and Alex Jones (ankle) are still out.

Oxford’s Gino van Kessel is hoping to keep his place after making his first league start since September.
