A RUSSIAN tourism official set to welcome England fans to the World Cup has been arrested as a suspected drugs “Mrs Big.”

Alina Darakchyan, 28, was detained after 61 packages of synthetic substances were found in her car, police said.

She was arrested on suspicion of preparing the drugs for sale and could face up to 20 years in jail if she is convicted.

Darakchyan was a key figure in the official state tourism agency in Volgograd where England kick off their campaign against Tunisia on June 18.

The agency will play a vital role in welcoming foreign supporters to the city, formerly known as Stalingrad.

Tourism officials and Englishspeaking volunteers will help up to 20,000 Three Lions fans expected to travel to Russia.

Darakchyan was expected to be a poster girl for Volgograd’s World Cup campaign.

Her arrest came after a 30-yearold mum was detained on suspicion of drug dealing in the city, according to police.

She is said to have “testified” against Darakchyan – the “alleged organiser of the drug sale”, according to Russian news site V1.ru.

Pictures were released of the drugs allegedly found in Darakchyan's car.

The Volgograd game is the first of England’s three qualifying group matches.

Gareth Southgate’s team also face Belgium and Panama in Group G.
