Drag Act to glam up CBB

Storm as X-rated Oz shocker goes in

CELEB Big Brother is braced for a backlash because one of the eight fellas going into the TV house tonight is a drag queen.

Aussie star Courtney Act is sure to make waves among housemates and fans.

CELEBRITY Big Brother bosses fear a viewer backlash tonight as they send in a drag queen and a comic who jokes about rape in their “Year of the Woman”.

Channel 5 trumpeted this series as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of British women getting the vote.

But fans have already criticised the glamour models and reality stars sent into the house.

And producers are set to stoke further fury when they introduce the men tonight.

Australian X-rated drag act Courtney Act – alias Shane Gilberto Jenek – is tipped to be one of eight males entering the house.

And that could infuriate transgender newsreader India Willoughby, who criticised drag acts on Wednesday’s show.

She said: “For people like me it’s not a part-time thing and it’s not a choice.

“That word transgender can mean everything from RuPaul to someone who’s Bob one day and Barbara another day– and I think that cheapens the seriousness of it.”

Show chiefs could cause an even bigger furore by sending in disgraced comedian Dapper Laughs.

The funnyman, real name Daniel O’Reilly, was dropped from ITV2 in 2014 after he made anti-women jokes and also made light of sexual assaults.

He told one audience member she was “gagging for a rape”.

Telly insiders fear the pair could tip viewers over the edge. One said: “They are blurring the line between good telly, a feminist backdrop and being offensive.

“The concept was a good idea but there are genuine fears they are pushing things too far in search of ratings.”

Bosses are hoping the boys will bring back viewers after the show’s all-female experiment had mixed results. Other contenders are Love Island hunk Jonny Mitchell, Apprentice reject Andrew Brady, veteran dancer Wayne Sleep, rapper Ginuwine and Boyzone’s Shane Lynch . The only confirmed male, England football legend John Barnes, 54, yesterday vowed to inject some fun into the show by performing his famous rap from 1990 World Cup anthem World In Motion. He said: “I’ve never forgotten the words.” John Barnes was speaking on behalf of https://bonus-codebets.co.uk/ andrew.jameson@dailystar.co.uk
