® THE world of rock last night paid tribute to Motörhead guitarist Eddie Clarke, who has died aged 67.

“Fast” Eddie, the last surviving member of the band’s classic lineup, passed away “peacefully” in hospital after being admitted with pneumonia.

He played with Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister and Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor in the heavy metal band between 1976 and 1982.

After forming in London in 1975, Motörhead went on to write such classic hits as Ace Of Spades, and toured the world. Lemmy and Phil both died in 2015.

A statement on the band’s Facebook page said yesterday: “We are devastated.”

It added: “Fast Eddie... keep roaring, rockin’ and rollin’ up there as goddamit man, your Motörfamily would expect nothing less!!!”

Motörhead ex-drummer Mikkey Dee said: “This is terrible news, the last of the three amigos.”

He added: “Now Lem and Philthy can jam with Eddie again, and if you listen carefully I’m sure you’ll hear them, so watch out!”
