I WORRY I might be gay. I’m in a relationship with a woman, but she does nothing for me. We occasionally have sex, but I can only manage it when I’m drunk and thinking about someone else. I know I frustrate and disappoint her but I don’t know what the solution is when we have a good lifestyle together. I’ve never actually been with another man – but I’d like to.

JANE SAYS: It’s unfair of you to carry on while your partner is clearly unhappy and frustrated. If you’re not ready to come out yet, then at least put her out of her misery by telling her that this relationship is not working for you.

A cosy lifestyle isn’t a good enough reason to carry on together. The following months or even years might be tough on both of you, but surely being open and honest has to be the best policy in the end.
