City set £20m limit as rivals step in

MANCHESTER CITY are prepared to let Manchester United win the battle to sign Alexis Sanchez.

United have joined the race to sign the Arsenal superstar – sparking a transfer scrap between the Manchester giants.

But it has emerged City bosses have set a £20m limit and are prepared to let United manager Jose Mourinho get Sanchez instead.

Mourinho last night refused to rule out signing Sanchez and labelled him “phenomenal”.

He said: “I don’t know if it’s ethical to be speaking about players of other clubs. If another club speaks about one of my players, to say they are ® interested, I wouldn’t be very happy. Myself and the Manchester United board, we don’t believe a lot in the January market. We don’t believe in signing players just to sign a player.
