Uncle ‘raped 2 girls and murdered niece’

A BUILDER obsessed with two young women kidnapped and raped them before murdering one of them, a court heard yesterday.
Mujahid Arshid allegedly slit the throat of his niece Celine Dookhran and stuffed her body in a freezer.
As Celine lay dead, he is said to have tried to kill the other girl by slitting her throat.
But she managed to escape and raise the alarm after convincing 33-year-old Arshid they could have an affair, the Old Bailey was told.
Bank worker Celine, 20, and the other girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, had moved into the builder’s home in Mitcham, south-west London, after falling out with parents over their choice of boyfriends. But “wicked” Arshid, who is said to have abused the unnamed girl when she was 13, was sexually obsessed with the pair, said prosecutor Crispin Aylett, QC.
He became furious when he realised they had sexual relationships with the boyfriends.
Mr Aylett said: “He must have realised that two young women who he adored were slipping away from him. If he couldn’t have them then no one could.”
Arshid, armed with a knife and Taser, is accused of snatching the girls from his home with the help of labourer Vincent Tabbu. The victims were allegedly bound and gagged and driven to an empty house in nearby Kingston that Arshid was renovating.
He denies murder, attempted murder, rape, kidnap and possessing a firearm.
Tappu, 28, of Acton, west London, denies kidnap, false imprisonment and possessing a firearm.
