Harry & Meghan mayhem
Crowds go wild for royals
BEAMING Meghan Markle proved she was a true “Princess of Wales” as she sent royal fans there wild.
The American beauty looked at home with Prince Harry as they met hundreds of wellwishers at Cardiff Castle yesterday.
And she even accepted an offer from one fan to hold her hen do in Wales. Crowds waited in the cold from 7am to catch a glimpse of the Suits actress and her fiancé – whose full title is Harry, The Prince of Wales.
The loved-up couple arrived more than an hour late after a train delay.
But it did not dampen their spirits, with a grinning Meghan, 36, and Harry, 33, stopping to hug onlookers and talk to children waving Welsh flags.
One fan even kissed Meghan on the hand. It sparked comparisons with Harry’s mum, former Princess of Wales Diana, who was loved across the nation.
Meghan delighted superfans Anne and Judy Daley when she accepted their offer of staging her hen party in Wales.
Anne had brought her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel – named Camilla – to meet the couple.
And she revealed: “I asked her if she would like to come on a hen night around the nightspots of Cardiff, and she said she’d love to.
“It was overwhelming, she was so beautiful and kind and she loved Camilla, she gave her a little squeeze.”
Two schoolchildren who share names with the royals – Meghan Taylor, nine, and Harry Smith, six – presented them with a traditional Celtic love spoon. Meghan who will marry Harry on May 19, said: “Oh my goodness, wow, it’s beautiful, thank you very much.” Inside the castle the couple were serenaded with a Welsh love song and poetry.
And a jovial Harry told Meghan: “You are only going to hear the best singing in Wales. At the Principality Stadium we have the best singing.
“People are in tune, which you can’t say for most football stadiums.”
Meghan told Welsh dignitaries it was “so exciting” to be in the country.
She added: “I am so happy that we are here today.”
The couple later visited a community centre.
