True pro Pog’s no problem

® JOSE MOURINHO insists there is no problem with Paul Pogba and reckons the Manchester United ace is the complete midfielder.

Mourinho stunned Pogba last weekend when he dropped him for the visit of Huddersfield to Old Trafford.

Pogba had a face like thunder on the substitutes’ bench after being axed for the first time since returning to United from Juventus in a £90m deal in 2016.

But Mourinho insists there are no issues between the two and the French ace remains one of the biggest and best stars in world football.

Mourinho, who is expected to recall Pogba for tomorrow’s trip to Newcastle, said: “Every player is in an evolution until the end of his career.

“Of course, when you’re a young kid, you have more to develop and more to learn.

“But until the end of your career a player has things to learn, things to improve, things to adapt and I don’t see a problem with that.

Potential

“Paul has a very professional outlook and this week was no different to every other week.

“Paul is a good professional, Paul works well, Paul likes to train. I never had one single problem with him regarding his professionalism because he really is a very good trainer, one of the guys who likes to train, enjoys to train. “For me Paul is a midfield player. “He’s not a left-back, he’s not a striker, so when people ask, ‘What’s his best position?’, Paul is a midfield player.

“And as a midfield player it’s difficult to find one with more potential than Paul because he has everything.”

Mourinho, meanwhile, has revealed that Luke Shaw will be rewarded with a new contract after putting his injury woes behind him to become an integral part of the team.

He added: “I know his potential and quality. He’s made a big effort.

“He’s been free of minor injuries for a few months, which sometimes stops the evolution, and I’m really happy.

“The natural consequence of it is that he will have his contract and he will be a United player for years.”
