LADYBIRD (15) THE GRAND TOUR: MOZAMBIQUE SPECIAL CAN Clarkson and pals put an end to world hunger, the way the likes of Bono have failed to do? Probably not, but series two’s final episode at least finds them trying to. Sort of.
Mozambique’s coast, you see, has an abundance of fish, so they figure that if they transport this 200 miles inland, where food is in shorter supply, they’ll be doing their bit. Each guy, needless to say, has his own barmy idea of how best to do this – May in an old Merc (with a tank of seawater in the back), Clarkson in a Nissan pick-up – and Hammond on a motorbike. FIRST TEAM: JUVENTUS LAST season Juventus won Italian football’s Serie A. They also won it the season before that. And the season before that. And the season before that. And…well, you get my drift. Netflix’s documentary, the first three parts of which are available from today, follows the Turin club’s bid to take the title yet again, and gives us behind-thescenes access to many of those currently wearing its famous black-and-white shirt. I say “currently” because they’re jolly philosophical these chaps. “Everything has a beginning and an end,” goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon reflects. “Nothing and nobody is eternal…” Golly. OTHER then the fact her name makes it kind of apt, what the heck is Brie Larson doing in a film this cheesy? It’s about a scientist sent to India, unaware she’s part of a corporation’s evil master plan. To be fair, it was filmed years ago but had its final touches added only last year. THE LAYOVER (15)
