Publicity stunt jibe ‘ludicrous’
FURIOUS Cheryl Tweedy has hit out at claims that she and Liam Payne were faking their show of love at the BRIT Awards.
It was “ludicrous and a bit weird” to suggest their touchyfeely display was just a publicity stunt, she raged.
CHERYL Tweedy denied she and Liam Payne turned up to the BRITs together as a “publicity stunt”.
The couple surprised organisers as they arrived holding hands despite growing rumours they are set to split.
They put on a touchyfeely display and even indulged in some sexy chat with host Jack Whitehall live on telly.
But it was later said pals were “sickened” by their “fake” show of unity.
Some claimed they were only together to promote Liam’s new single.
However, yesterday furious Cheryl finally snapped. In a rare public outburst, she tweeted: “Oh stop.
“No-one cares who’s been speculatively arguing or not in their relationships.”
The ex-Girls Aloud star added that the “stunt theories are just ludicrous and a bit weird”
Annoyed.
Cheryl and ex-One Direction hunk Liam kept their night going by turning up at Universal’s afterparty at the Ned Hotel in the City of London.
They posed for more smiling pictures for official photographers but were later seen looking glum as they left the venue and the telly cameras were off. Witnesses said the pair “barely spoke” all night.
Sexy Rita Ora, who Liam duetted with despite reports of Cheryl’s fury at their closeness, attended the Warner after-party at the Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden.
Liam, 24, and Cheryl, 34, are said to have grown apart over their 10-year age gap and his globe-trotting lifestyle for his solo career.
He is also said to be annoyed Cheryl has rejected several of his marriage proposals. But they played along for the cameras and Whitehall when he approached.
Cheryl joked Liam’s safe word during naughty Fifty Shades style romps is “don’t stop”.
However, insiders said she was “furious” as the posh presenter later joked about Liam and Rita’s “chemistry” during their performance together. Meanwhile, fans claim Cheryl’s appearance is a sign the split rumours are true.
They fear the mum of one, who gave birth to Bear last March, is “wasting away” and losing weight.
