Pogba taking blame

French superstar was soon called into action to replace Ander Herrera after the Spaniard broke down injured in the first half of the goalless draw.

But Mourinho claimed before the Sevilla game that he had “doubts” about Pogba after he had ruled himself out of last weekend’s FA Cup win at Huddersfie­ld with a mystery illness.

The United boss then refused to praise his £90m midfielder after the dour last-16 clash in Spain.

And the ex-Juventus ace is less than impressed with Mourinho, fearing he has hung him out to dry.

Mourinho is debating whether or not to start Pogba in Sunday’s crunch clash with Chelsea at Old Trafford, or continue with Scott McTominay following his recent fine displays.

McTominay, 21, is desperate to face the Blues and wants to repay the faith Mourinho has shown in him.

He said: “It’s important for me to repay the manager whenever he puts trust in me in these games.

“Big occasions, that’s what you want in your career. They’re the things that make or break you.”
