ROYAL staff have been given anti-radiation protection gear following the anthrax scare at Kensington Palace.

A racist letter laced with a white powder was sent to Prince Harry and his fiancée Meghan Markle.

Post-room workers, whose duties include opening letters for the royals, have now been issued with safety clothing.

Deadly

The Hazmat-inspired outfits are said to have been welcomed by servants afraid of opening toxic mail and packages.

A source said: “The staff tasked with opening letters are now on high alert.

“They have been given goggles and protective face masks as anthrax and other substances can kill if they are inhaled.

“Staff have joked that it’s like something out of that film, Outbreak, where they deal with the deadly virus.

“Police officials have also given them gloves usually worn to handle asbestos.

“The gloves will not only protect skin, but maximise the chance of the suspect’s fingerprints staying on the dodgy mail.”

Detectives are still investigating the source of the letter containing the powder, sent to 36-year-old Meghan on February 12.

The package is being treated as a race hate attack, according to Scotland Yard. BRITAIN could use its popular young royals to secure global trade deals.

A top Aussie politician reckons Princes William and Harry, Princess Kate and Meghan Markle could promote Brexit Britain.

Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said: “The young royals are very much an asset. Prince Harry and Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge are taking such a role.”

She attended a reception hosted by Princess Kate to link up fashion designers at Buckingham Palace last week.
