A CHARITY football match that raised more than £400,000 for Grenfell Tower survivors has won a major accolade.

Football legends and celebs including Les Ferdinand, Peter Crouch, David Seaman, Marcus Mumford and Damian Lewis played in the Game4Grenfell last September.

Queens Park Rangers hosted the showdown at their Loftus Road stadium which is just a mile away from the west London site of the inferno that claimed 72 lives.

Now the event has been named best community project in 2017 at the London Football Awards.

QPR’s director of football, Les Ferdinand, said: “After the game I remember speaking to some of the survivors and they were saying, ‘since the tragedy, this is the best day we’ve had’.”

Andy Evans, of the QPR In The Community Trust, said: “Hopefully, winning this award will bring Grenfell back into the spotlight, because there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.” STAY-athome parents get through a huge 27 chores every day, with mums doing more than 14 hours a day and dads 10, says a Dorset Cereals survey.
