ALEKSANDAR MITROVIC says Fulham’s great entertainers are ready to challenge for automatic promotion.

The Serb striker knows what it takes to get out of the Championship after helping Newcastle gain promotion last year.

After finding himself surplus to requirements at St James’ Park, Mitrovic joined Fulham on loan at the end of the last transfer window.

And Mitrovic is starting to make an impact with a t h i r d goal in three games setting Fulham on course for victory at Derby.

Teenager Ryan Sessegnon continued his hot form in front of goal to put the visitors 2-0 up at half-time.

Although Derby midfielder Tom Huddlestone pulled a goal back, Fulham held on for a win that took them above their hosts in the table.

Mitrovic said: “We play a different style here. The players enjoy the football more than last season with Newcastle. At Newcastle we knew how we wanted to play. We always played for the results.

“This season, this team we always try to score more goals than the opponent whereas Newcastle was more tactical.

“We didn’t play as much attacking football as we play now. Obviously, it worked because Newcastle were promoted last season, I hope we are promoted again with Fulham. The style, the players always attacking always trying to score one more than your opponents, always with a lot of possession. “Last season I really followed Fulham, they were the best team to watch in this league. “We are continuing like this, that’s one of the reasons I joined here.” The result leaves Derby with just one win from their last eight and goalkeeper Scott Carson says they need to keep battling. He said: “We said at half-time that we need to show a bit more fight and be more aggressive obviously without being silly and people getting sent off. “In the second half the crowd got behind us, that was because we showed a lot more fight and desire.”
