HARVEY Weinstein was shunned by the Oscars – but his Hollywood sex harassment scandal took centre stage on the night.

Showbiz stars slated the producer, with awards host Jimmy Kimmel telling the audience: “We can’t let bad behaviour slide any more, the world is watching us.”

And making fun of the shamed movie mogul, he added: “The Academy, as you are no doubt aware, took action last year to expel Harvey Weinstein from their ranks.”

The gags about Weinstein, who denies swathes of allegations of sexual assault against him, continued, with Jimmy referencing romantic merman hit movie The Shape Of Water, saying: “Thanks to Guillermo [del Toro], we will always remember this year as the year men screwed up so badly, women started dating fish.”

The silver screen’s top talent banded together at the glitzy do on Sunday night, joining the #MeToo and Time’s Up campaigns against sexual harassment in Hollywood.

British talent shone as Gary Oldman was crowned Best Actor, The Silent Child won Best Live Action Short, cinematographer Roger Deakins clinching his first win and war film Dunkirk taking home best sound editing.

Make-up and hairstyling duo Lucy Sibbick and David Malinowski, along with Japanese colleague Kazuhiro Tsuji, also landed a gong for their work on Darkest Hour.

Gary adds the Oscar to his Bafta and Golden Globe awards for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.

Stars including Jennifer Lawrence, Alessandra Ambrosio and Emily Ratajkowski were around for the glitzy bash. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway returned to the stage to present the final award, a year after the Best Picture fiasco when they announced La La Land as the winner.

The pair announced The Shape Of Water as the best picture, adding to the film’s three other gongs. Frances McDormand won the Best Actress prize for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
