NIALL EVALDS admits Salford’s start to the season isn’t good enough after three defeats in four games.

But the Red Devils winger insists the dark days of the Million Pound Game are over.

Salford bounced back from that 2016 trauma by finishing fourth after 23 rounds last year and Evalds expects similar this year.

He said: “That Million Pound Game will live long in the memory and is one we never want to have to face again.

“That can spur us on again. It did last year because it’s important we’re never in those Middle 8s again.”

Salford lost 34-2 at St Helens on Sunday to leave them third bottom in the table. Evalds, who has scored four tries, added: “We weren’t good enough and gave away too many silly errors and penalties.

Discipline

“They can cost you and the second half was unacceptable so there are things we need to improve on definitely.

“One win in four is not ideal and not the start we wanted but we have got to deal with that now.

“We’re a good team and we’re confident if we perform as we can, we can beat anybody. We just need to put in an 80-minute performance – hopefully against Castleford this week.”

Coach Ian Watson added: “We need to be more resilient as a team and improve our discipline.

“If things are not going our way we cannot just shut up shop.

“We have got to fight for what we want to get out of the game and out of the season.” WARRINGTON have banned four fans – one for life the others for two years – after trouble during their recent win at Widnes.

Smoke bombs were set off in the away end and a flare was also thrown onto the pitch.

The club said: “The club, and the sport of rugby league, will not tolerate the behaviour displayed.”

Meanwhile, the RFL are to move into new headquarters at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. ®
