We’ll be Ell supremos

WHITE’S WORLD DOMINATION BID

-

ELLEN WHITE says England are ready for a World Cup Final dress rehearsal.

Phil Neville’s Lionesses are in Orlando ahead of their final game of the SheBelieves Cup against world champions USA.

A 2-2 draw against Germany means victory over the USA will see England lift the trophy.

Next year’s World Cup in France is the big one but White, who fired in two goals against Germany, reckons this is the chance to set down a marker.

The Birmingham forward said: “We’ve faced France who are sixth in the world, Germany who are second and now the USA – who are the best in the world.

“This tournament replicates a World Cup and it’s like a World Cup Final for us.

‘‘We can’t wait to play the USA. We beat them on home soil last from STEVE BRENNER in Orlando year but we’ve got to be able to thrive in these pressure situations.

‘‘We’ve got to thrive when there is a big crowd.

“We’ve really grown over the last four or five years and, with Phil in charge, we don’t only want to just compete against the best teams in the world – we want to beat them.

“We’ve played in a different way at this tournament and you’ve seen the results. We have now got to beat the best team in the world.”

England created plenty of chances against Germany but it was left to 28-year-old White to cancel out two sloppy goals either side of the break.

White added: “It shows how far we have come that we are disappointed to get a draw against Germany. But we showed great character to come back.”
