OUR FIRM CAN BEAT ANY CLUB

- By CHRIS McKENNA by CHRIS McKENNA

ROBERTO FIRMINO insists Liverpool fear nobody in the Champions League.

Jurgen Klopp’s side booked their place in next week’s draw for the quarter-finals with a 5-0 aggregate win over Porto. And Firmino says he does not care who they face next.

The Brazil forward said: “We’d like a draw against an English club. Why not? We have shown in the past few seasons we can beat all the English clubs. Our record is good against them.

“We feel we have played well against the top English clubs and shown we can beat them.

“But we are not afraid of anyone in the draw. We are not concerned who we get. We don’t mind.

“A top Spanish club? We are not afraid. I don’t think we have anything to fear from any side now.

Problems

“If you are in the draw then you cannot be afraid of anyone. We feel we can beat any side on our day.

“I think we are a team who will cause problems to others.”

Firmino is having his finest season at Liverpool with 22 goals, including seven in the Champions League.

His red-hot form has helped fill the void left by Philippe Coutinho’s January departure to Barcelona.

It also means the Brazilian should be leading the line for his country at this summer’s World Cup in Russia.

But Firmino, whose side travel to Manchester ® ® United for their Premier League clash on Saturday, said: “That is a long away ahead.

“The season is not over, I have my objectives with Liverpool and I want to concentrate on them.

“If I can do well, then that will be important for my position in the national team squad.

“There is still a lot to play for. We are in the Champions League and we believe we deserve to be in there.

“Liverpool want to win a trophy. We are all concentrating on that, and that is the aim at this stage.” DOMINIC CalvertLewin is poised for a shock England call-up.

Gareth Southgate looks set to select the Everton striker for next month’s friendly clashes with Holland and Italy.

Calvert-Lewin, 20, has not played for the senior team but did train with them ahead of November’s friendly against Brazil.
