MORE TO US THAN MOOY

- By TOM MASTON

AARON MOOY’S Huddersfield team-mates say they must keep winning with or without the midfielder.

The Aussie powerhouse returns at home to Swansea today after three weeks out with a gashed knee.

David Wagner’s side are chasing a third win in four Premier League matches that could see them move six points clear of the bottom three.

They have won one and lost one without Mooy in the league but know they cannot keep relying on a player who has been key to the club’s remarkable rise.

His fellow midfielder Danny Williams said: “He had a massive impact last season when he helped us get promoted.

Danger

“He has certain qualities going forward and his set-pieces are always a danger.

“But it’s not only Aaron, there are other players in the team I rate highly.

“I don’t think we should make the mistake of looking at just one player.

“He contributes a lot to the team, but the defence and other midfielders should also be praised.

“What makes this team and this club so special and different to the other teams is that most us have not played in the Premier League before.

“We all want to make sure that we can show ® everyone we are good enough for this level.”

Williams is one of those who have played well in Mooy’s absence, though his debut Premier League season is likely to be remembered more for an off-field incident.

The USA international unintentionally exposed himself to a worldwide TV audience rearranging his shorts on the bench during the recent win over Bournemouth.

But he is keen for it not to define his season.

“It was a mistake, an accident – but I don’t think we should make it any bigger than it was,” he said.

“There are so many more things that have happened to me in my career, so I’m keen to put it in the past.”
