YOUR TURN: Which England international was the last man to score a hat-trick in a Cherries v Spurs game? started the move from which Alli bundled in from Aurier’s pinpoint cross to make it 1-1. It was Alli’s first Premier League goal in 16 matches and one Spurs scarcely deserved.

Bournemouth started the second half as boldly as they had the first.

Captain Simon Francis’ long-range effort forced a flying save from Lloris before Nathan Ake headed over from the resulting corner.

But Spurs slowly began to take control and Christian Eriksen stung the palms of Begovic with a fiercely-struck shot from outside the penalty area.

Dan Gosling passed up a chance to put Bournemouth back in front when he sidefooted wide after a good run from Stanislas.

And Gosling was made to pay as Son’s slightly miscued volley gave Tottenham a 62nd-minute lead after Alli had centred.

Son extended the lead three minutes from time, leading a counter-attack before rounding the helpless Begovic and coolly slotting home his 18th goal of the season.

Son was only denied a hat-trick by a smart save from Begovic before Aurier headed in Spurs’ fourth goal from a tight angle, after the Bosnian keeper had parried Kieran Trippier’s cross-cum-shot.
