ADAM YATES burst clear in the final two miles to win stage five of the Tirreno-Adriatico yesterday.

His win came a day after brother Simon missed out on winning the Paris-Nice title by four seconds.

Fellow Brit Geraint Thomas finished sixth to stay fourth overall, having led on Saturday before being hit by bike problems.

Sky team-mate Chris Froome’s bike also broke down yesterday and he finished more than four minutes behind Yates.
