Brad can't backpedal now
SIR BRADLEY WIGGINS has gone on the attack to defend his reputation in the wake of a doping investigation report from MPs.
The report alleges Wiggins (inset) and Team Sky used a banned corticosteroid to boost performance ahead of his 2012 Tour de France victory.
Wiggins, who suffers from asthma, denied ‘any drug was used without medical need’ and claimed he is the victim of a smear campaign. But all his TV interview did was smack of righteous indignation. He showed a lack of appreciation over how the evasion shown both by himself and team boss Sir Dave Brailsford has destroyed the sport. Wiggins gives the impression it’s always someone else’s fault. But perhaps if he had possessed the brains to mention he suffers from asthma and allergies in his autobiography ‘My Time’ in 2012, he wouldn’t be finding it so hard now to defend himself.
