Lessons on the royal etiquette

MEGHAN Markle is being schooled on British etiquette as she prepares to join the Royal Family.

The American actress is being made to undergo lessons on how to hold cups of tea, eat lunch and walk the royal way before she weds Prince Harry.

Prince Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold has revealed the princess will be put through her paces to ensure she sticks to royal protocol.

And according to the former household insider, the ex Suits actress, 36, will be forced to give up her selfies and habit of giving out autographs when she is officially part of the Windsors.

He said: “She has to be careful what she says, how she says it, and how it’s taken because after the 19th of May, it will be a reflection of the royal family.

“It’s everyday things – from the way she walks, the way she speaks, the things she does, how she eats, how she holds her cup, how she dresses – everything will be looked at. There will be a lot for her to adapt to.”

But the new “modern approach” by the young royals means Meghan will still be able to dish out her hugs as she channels the late Princess Diana’s approach.

Harrold added: “None of the rest of the Royal Family hugged. Now the younger royals, Princes William and Harry, you see them hugging... So it’s their way of doing it. They are copying what their mother did, which is fantastic.”
