‘I’LL WRITE GIRLS HIT’
HITMAKER Meghan Trainor is all crazy about those Spice Girls.
The US star is famed for her positive anthems of female empowerment.
And she has the perfect Girl Power hit for when the reunited girl band make their comeback.
Meghan told me: “I would die to write for the Spice Girls, that would be insane. I have all the songs for them, I’m thinking a Greatest Hits needs a new song. I grew up with them, everyone did, they’re timeless and I feel everyone will continue to grow up with them forever.”
Meghan’s current brilliant single No Excuses would have been an ideal Spice song.
She explained: “It’s perfect for everything that is going on in the world today with equality, all the movements.
“Young women like me are saying, ‘No it’s not OK and that’s not acceptable nowadays’. So it’s a sassy pop song that also has an important message.” Meghan is happy that another American who shares the same name is making waves in the UK. Referring to Meghan Markle, she said: “I love seeing posts about the royals. I stayed up and watched the last royal wedding at 3am.
“I’m a hopeless romantic, I want to be there.” Meghan recently got engaged to actor Daryl Sabara but nuptials will have to wait.
She added: “I want to do a worldwide tour.
“He knows there’s no wedding yet, he helps me through these long days and he’s the best thing ever.” ¬ No Excuses is out now.
