NOW IT’S BACK TO NORMAL

- AIDAN COLEMAN

WITH the exception of San Calvados my horses ran pretty much as anticipated at the Cheltenham Festival.

Saint Calvados was a bit keen and never really got into a rhythm against his more experienced rivals.

Hopefully he can bounce back next time.

I was happy with Acey Milan, who was fourth in the Champion Bumper. He was the first British horse home and has a big future.

I fancied Wholestone to run into the places in the Stayers’ Hurdle and he duly did with an excellent third, but unless you’re riding for Willie Mullins or Gordon Elliott, you weren’t going to get much of a look-in.

It’s back to normality with three rides at Uttoxeter.

My best ride of the day is LECHLADE MAGICIAN, who lines up in the Betfred Mobile Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race. He was very disappointing in a bumper at Newbury, which was won by Acey Milan, but he shows his old form, then he’ll be hard to beat.

MOZO, who runs in the Betfred St Patrick’s Day Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.

She will have to improve a little bit on that but she could be in the mix.

My other ride is FLEMINPORT in the Betfred “Treble Odds On Lucky15’s” Handicap Hurdle. He lacks experience in a competitive race.
