Angels so worth rise

-

IT is about time our NHS everyday heroes were given a pay rise.

Their hard work and dedication is indisputable.

Rises of between 6.5% and 29% over the next three years are a step in the right direction.

But some are concerned the money from Government coffers will be dished out to fat cat hospital bosses. They are rightfully worried. Greedy health service chiefs have form for pocketing huge salaries.

In London alone, 60 trust chiefs earn more than the Prime Minister.

It is those dealing with the sick and injured who deserve the extra cash.

So news that physiotherapists and midwives look set for the biggest increases is welcomed.

It is them, not pen-pushers, who deserve to be rewarded for their life-saving work. THIS week, the Strictly presenter revealed she deleted her Instagram account because she was sick of people “showing off ”.

She said: “Instagram is simply showing off. It’s ‘Look at me!’ It’s ‘Isn’t life fantastic?’ It’s ‘I can’t believe how great I look!’”

Claudia also admitted she was failing to enjoy her own life because she was too fixated on seeing what other people were doing.

ADELE

AFTER giving birth to son Angelo in 2012, Adele was targeted by sick trolls.

But the singer has claimed her lack of Twitter presence is actually due to her big mouth.

“I’m not allowed access to my own Twitter because I’m quite mouthy and I say the wrong thing a lot of the time,” she said last year.

Adele has also said: “How am I supposed to write a real record if I’m waiting for half a million likes on a photo? That ain’t real.”

DAISY RIDLEY

THE actress who plays Rey in Star Wars left Instagram after receiving a backlash over an anti-gun violence post.

And she reckons the site puts pressure on impressionable young people.

Daisy said: “It’s such a weird thing for young people to look at distorted images of things they should be.”

ED SHEERAN

ED announced he was leaving Twitter after being trolled. He said: “I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things. “One comment ruins your day. But that’s why I’ve come off it. The head-f*** for me has been trying to work out why people dislike me so much.”

KANYE WEST

RAPPER Kanye has a complicated relationship with social media but in May last year, he deleted his Instagram and Twitter pages – apparently for good. He joined Instagram in 2016, calling his account “art”. And he was a frequent tweeter on subjects including US President Donald Trump.

EMMA STONE

THE La La Land actress quit Twitter after being hacked but realised her life was better without it.

She said: “When you see people like, ‘This is the best life ever! I couldn’t be happier,’ you’re like, ‘Shut up, that is not true.’

“Not everything comes together in the best way ever, every day.”
