Sanchez: I’ve been a failure

- By IAN WHITTELL

ALEXIS SANCHEZ has admitted he is struggling at Manchester United.

The Chilean’s displays have been panned since United beat Manchester City to his signature in January.

Boss Jose Mourinho has admitted Sanchez is finding it hard going at Old Trafford after just one goal in 10 appearances – and the former Arsenal star agrees.

The 29-year-old (right) said: “As I am self-demanding, I expected something better.

“The change of club was very abrupt. It was the first time that I have changed clubs in January.

“But many things have happened in my life that

are difficult.” Sanchez’s dramatic loss of form has been accompanied by reports that some of his new team-mates have been unsettled by his arrival, not least because of his £500,000-a-week wages.

He said he thought about pulling out of Chile’s friendly in Sweden on Saturday to spend more time at his new club.

But he revealed that a chat with Chile team-mate and Manchester City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo, helped change his mind.

He said: “After my arrival at United, it was hard to change everything very quickly. I even hesitated to come here. I had asked permission to miss these games, but then I thought better and spoke with Claudio and told him that we should all be united.” ¬ÊUnited and Spurs will play their FA Cup semifinal on Saturday, April 21 at 5.15pm, with Chelsea and Southampton playing at Wembley the following day at 3pm.
