Couple’s love tug over dog
TRAGIC Ant could lose custody of his beloved dog Hurley if he puts the animal in danger.
The pooch was in the car when the I’m A Celeb star crashed and failed a roadside breathalyser test on Sunday.
He shares the pet with his estranged wife Lisa Armstrong, 41.
She seized the animal from her troubled husband after the smash.
It was seen being taken on a stroll by dog walkers hired by the make-up artist.
She liked a tweet from a fan saying she was sending the chocolate labrador “lots of love”.
The couple were expected to wrangle in the coming months to keep the five-yearold animal permanently.
Hurley has been a comfort to Ant during his recent struggles and man and dog were often pictured on long walks together.
An insider previously said: “It’s a very sensitive situation because they always thought they would raise Hurley together, but they are currently sharing custody and there will be a formal agreement made in the coming weeks.
“No final decision has been made about the house but Ant moved out last year to allow Lisa to stay there and accepts that it is her choice if she wants to stay.”
Divorce lawyer Ayesha Vardag, who has settled many cases involving dogs, said animals can be a huge source of conflict.
She said: “It becomes something very deep-seated and people hang their emotions onto it.”
