IRONING BORED

Twitter proves Milner really is dull

FOOTBALL ace James Milner has finally joined Twitter – and is proving just as deadly dull as his online parody.

The mickey-taking spoof account @BoringMilner is one of the funniest on the net.

It has almost 600,000 followers and quotes the Liverpool star doing boring tasks or having dull conversations with team-mates and managers.

And now the 32-year-old’s first genuine tweet on @JamesMilner has had fans in giggles as he lived up to that humdrum reputation. The Premier League star’s opening post was a picture of himself doing the ironing!

The post immediately received a raft of retweets and comments.

One new follower joked: “Wait... had to double-take... doesn’t @BoringMilner usually iron his socks also? Who’s this fraud?”

Another quipped: “Living up to his boring rep.”

Milner’s second tweet was just as exciting as he wrote: “Thanks for the great welcome to Twitter.

“Good luck to the @England lads later.

“And to @VirgilvDijk as new Holland captain... after tonight of course! (sorry big man).”

The only accounts the ex-Leeds, Newcastle and Aston Villa man is following are those of Liverpool pals Jordan Henderson and Adam Lallana, the club’s own page and one for his charity which supports the NSPCC, Help for Heroes and cancer organisation Bloodwise.

Some Leeds fans have called on the Yorkshire-born lad to return to the club where he began.

And Milner even received a welcome from his more famous imitation account.

@BoringMilner joked: “You know you’ve made it when someone makes a parody account of you. Welcome @JamesMilner.”
