Conte and Eddie helped

GARETH BALE has been urged to turn his back on a Premier League return and stay at Real Madrid.

The Wales ace has been tipped to leave Spain this summer, with Manchester United and Chelsea heading the queue for his signature.

But Bale’s international boss Ryan Giggs believes he should stay in La Liga.

“It’s Real Madrid. There are only a handful of clubs who have got that aura,” said Giggs, who got his reign as Dragons manager off to a flier with a 6-0 win over China on Thursday.

“Of course you would want to stay there. What has Gareth won, three

RYAN GIGGS revealed that he picked the brains of Eddie Jones and Antonio Conte to help plot Wales’ route to glory.

The new Wales boss made a dream start to his reign as Gareth Bale hit a hat-trick in the 6-0 rout of China on Thursday.

And Giggs hopes guidance from England rugby boss Jones and Chelsea chief Conte can help him and Wales stay winners.

Watching

Wales are targeting Euro 2020 and Giggs’ ultimate aim is to take his new team to the World Cup in Qatar two years later.

He said: “I spoke to a lot of managers in the time I was out of the game.

“I was busy and always watching other sports. I was sitting in between Antonio Conte and Eddie Jones at a charity dinner and I was constantly trying to talk to them.

“That was a nightmare actually as Eddie was trying to ask me questions about Sir Alex Ferguson!

“It took a long time to get this job, but that time away was great. I have only known football since I left school and time away ® was good, but now it is the right time to go on my own.”

After a glittering career at Manchester United, Giggs had four games in caretaker charge at Old Trafford after David Moyes was axed and was Louis van Gaal’s No.2.

Giggs, 44, who succeeded Chris Coleman as Dragons boss in January, said: “I learned a lot about how lonely it was when I was United manager for four games. When you shut the door of your office and everyone else has gone home, you are on your own.

“But just like a player, you always want to improve as a manager and look at the best.

“Even Pep Guardiola and Jose Mourinho are always looking to improve, and I was always playing catch-up as a coach because I played until I was 40.”

Wales will face Uruguay, who beat Czech Republic 2-0 yesterday, in Monday’s China Cup final and Giggs added: “I don’t want to get carried away, but it was a brilliant start against China.

“Reaching the next World Cup would be an unbelievable achievement.”
