ANT McPartlin’s estranged wife showed off a new purple hairdo yesterday.

Lisa Armstrong, 41, was out picking up supplies from her local shop in London.

The make-up artist held her head up high and looked relaxed despite the turmoil surrounding her troubled husband.

Wearing a Louis Vuitton scarf to keep out the chill, she emerged from the supermarket with a blue carrier bag full of snacks. ®

A TV show delving into Ant and Dec’s family trees has been shelved as it features them boozing.

Producers think it would be wrong to broadcast the footage because troubled Ant McPartlin is facing a drink-drive charge. A source said: “It’s really touch and go as to whether this show ever sees the light of day now.” ITV filmed a documentary called Ant And Dec’s DNA Journey. Just like the BBC show Who Do You Think You Are?, the Geordie lads were sent to dig up their family trees and see if – like EastEnders’ Danny Dyer – they were related to royalty. The TV duo were born in Newcastle but their families hail from Ireland. So the boys flew to several locations there, including County Leitrim, with pubs playing a key role. The Saturday Night Takeaway stars visited Wynne’s Bar and Frank Davitt’s Bar in Drumkeeran and Berry’s Tavern in Drumshanbo. In Wynne’s Bar, landlord’s brother Dessie Wynne said: “They were very good craic – they’re two very nice fellas, very ordinary. We had them in behind the counter and they pulled a few pints.” The show was filmed in May 2017, a month before Ant checked into rehab after becoming addicted to painkillers and booze following a botched knee operation. He made a welcome return to TV in November to co-host I’m A Celebrity with his pal Dec. But last week, Ant was arrested and charged with drink-driving following a car accident in London. The day afterwards, he checked back into rehab. It leaves their ITV documentary in the balance because of its alcohol-fuelled scenes. Last night ITV said it had “nothing more to add” to previous statements made about the star. Ant’s spokesman said last week: “Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments. “He has asked for time off for the foreseeable future.” A television insider added: “Everyone just wants Ant to get better. “Showing clips of him in a pub is not very fair bearing in mind they were filmed before anyone knew about the demons he was battling.”
