I’LL BE BACK TO KANE ’EM

HARRY KANE says he will be firing on all cylinders at the World Cup.

The England striker looked rusty on his first start in nearly a month in Tottenham’s win at Stoke.

Kane completed his first 90 minutes since March 11 when he suffered an ankle injury.

However, the 24-year-old believes the time off has allowed him to recharge the batteries.

And unlike at Euro 2016 when Kane looked jaded for the Three Lions after a long season, he says he will be feeling fresh and ready to terrorise defences in Russia.

“I definitely feel I will benefit from the break,” said Kane.

“It happened similar last year and I came back strong and that’s what I’m aiming to do this summer and take that into the World Cup.

“I feel good at the moment and it’s important I stay fit and healthy and help the team.”

Kane thought he had bagged his 25th league goal of the season on Saturday, only for the Premier League to award it to Christian Eriksen instead.

Appeal

That would have taken him to within four of Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah in his bid to win the golden boot three years in a row.

Spurs are understood to be considering lodging an appeal to the Premier League on Kane’s behalf.

But Kane reckons he can catch Salah even if the decision is not overturned.

He added: “I still believe I can. I have got to focus on my game and I can’t control what he does.

“It would be great to win the golden boot again and I will keep working hard from now until the end of the season.”

Eriksen put Spurs ahead seven minutes into the second half when he fired home from Dele Alli’s cutback but Mame Biram Diouf levelled after Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris’ bungled clearance.

Tottenham secured the points when Eriksen curled in a free-kick which Kane claims made the faintest contact with his shoulder.

“I swear on my daughter’s life that I touched the ball,” said Kane.

Second-from-bottom Stoke have won just one of Paul Lambert’s 10 games in charge.

“We need to win three games,” he said. “We’ve drawn a lot of games and we’ve deserved to get more points than we have.

“For the performance and everything I can’t ask for any more, we’ve been absolutely excellent. We just need a wee bit of rub of the green and the little things need to go for you.”
