Thunder warning
JURGEN KLOPP says Liverpool will face a Manchester City “thunderstorm” tonight.
Klopp – who will make a final decision on Mohamed Salah’s fitness this morning – has warned his players not to underestimate the damage City can do in tonight’s Champions League showdown.
Klopp (right) watched City run riot in the first half of Saturday’s Manchester derby before United staged a stunning comeback to win.
He has urged his side not to panic even if City grab an early goal as
Liverpool bid to hold on to their 3-0 first-leg lead. Klopp said: “I saw City v United at the weekend. It was one of the best first halves I ever saw. It was like a thunderstorm.
“We can go through all scenarios: they score early, we score early and all that stuff. I cannot tell the boys, ‘Score early!’. Well, I can but I am not sure that it really helps. This is half-time. It was the same at half-time in Anfield. The game is not over.
“Being in the lead is not winning. We are still in the lead but we didn’t win so far. We need a little bit more from this game. I see it as two legs are one game. We lead 3-0.
“That is better than I would have expected. If we concede a goal – nothing changes.
“We are still in the lead. It is about doing the right things so we can bring in our strengths.”
Salah trained last night after recovering from the groin injury picked up in the first leg. Klopp will hope the Egyptian has no reaction to the session this morning.
