BGT star Ant & me: The Truth

BGT Steve reveals hotel booze-ups

BRITAIN’S Got Talent star Stephen Mulhern has told of late-night bar sessions with Ant McPartlin.

Ant will not host the live episodes of the talent contest when it returns to screens.

The troubled star has checked back into rehab following a drink-driving charge.

But the presenter, who struggled with a drugs and booze ad- diction last year, will be seen on our tellies this Saturday as much of the show had been pre-recorded before his smash last month.

It has been revealed he loved spending extra time with his BGT celebrity mates at their plush hotels after recording ended for the day.

Britain’s Got More Talent host Stephen said the Geordie would be joined by Amanda Holden, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon and pal Declan Donnelly.

Only show boss Simon Cowell chose to avoid the parties.

Stephen revealed to Closer magazine: “It’s brilliant, because after filming we all go back to the hotel, give it five or 10 minutes – and then we’ll be in the bar.

“There’s no way you can come from audition day and go: ‘Right everybody, I’m off to bed!’

“We have a good gossip. We all socialise, though David is the most disciplined and only ever has one cocktail.

“What does Simon drink? No, Simon doesn’t come to the bar.”

Ant was charged with drinkdriving last month following a crash involving two Minis near his home in west London, which injured a little girl. He is due in court on Monday.

The 42-year-old is taking an extended break from telly amid fears for his mental health.

He has already missed the final two episodes of Saturday Night Takeaway, leaving Dec to present alone for the first time.

Ant will appear only in pre-recorded segments for the BGT auditions.

Ant’s agents were approached for comment last night.
