GEETANJALI CAN COMPLETE TREBLE

-

1.40 Everything went wrong for RATTLE ON (nb) last week and he is worth another chance. He was slowly away and met trouble in running but still finished strongly, going down by a neck. He would have won in a couple of strides and is a step ahead of the handicapper as he is due to go up 3lb in future. Sir Jamie is just 2lb higher than when scoring over course and distance in January and is one for the short list along with False Id. He was not beaten far on his debut for Johnny Farrelly at Wolverhampton and has slipped to a favourable mark. The same can be said of De Little Engine, who is due to go up 2lb in future after his second to the in-form Mime Dance here last week on his debut for new connections. 3.45 The return to this trip has been the making of GEETANJALI (nap), who can complete the hat-trick. She has improved with each run and was value for more than the official winning margin at Chelmsford last Friday and the penalty she carries is offset by the very capable Cameron Noble’s, pictured, claim. Should she falter then Free Talkin can take advantage. She is yet to score but has acquitted herself well in her last two starts at this venue, performing better than her final position suggests. Duba Plains needs to settle before he can be backed with confidence but ran his best race to date over track and trip when fifth to Freebe Rocks and does hail from an in-form stable. 5.20 After eight victories at the track they will be building a statue to Attain. The latest was last month when he had SMILEY BAGEL (treble) two lengths back in third. His rival is now 3lb better off and is equally at home at this venue with form figures of 1123 on his four visits here. There should be little between the pair but Smiley Bagel may just edge it. The step up to this trip has seen improvement from Compatriot, who won a couple at Wolverhampton but failed in his hat-trick bid at Southwell. He may feel more at home on this faster surface but he is 11lb higher than his last success and he will need to progress again. Scoones was a tad disappointing on his Chelmsford return but should strip fitter. He is stepped up to this distance for the first time and there must be a doubt about him staying. There is a bit of stamina on the dam’s side but his sire was a sprinter. James Fanshawe knows what he is doing and perhaps his chance will be reflected in the market.
