THE FRY LIFE FOR JUST 99p
BARGAIN BREKKIE’S A HOT DEAL
A CAFE selling a breakfast fry-up for just 99p is aiming to take over the high streets.
The Grafters Cafe offers bacon, egg, beans, sausage and toast for under a quid.
And if it is a success, plans are to go nationwide.
The company hopes to set up a cheap and cheerful cafe in every major UK city, starting with Southend in Essex.
They want to open three extra sites across the county in the coming months.
And the owners are already eyeing up Manchester, Liverpool and the Midlands.
A spokesman for the firm said: “Our business revolves around price, quality and cleanliness as well as giving affordability to everyone.
“Poundland has had a massive influence on us as they are open everywhere now and it is middle class people that seem to be their biggest customers.
“I think we are already in a recession and people don’t realise, it’s going to really hit in the next year or so. Big shops like Toys ’R’ Us and Prezzo are closing and people don’t know if they are to be redundant. Whether it is mums with prams or people wearing suits, everyone is looking for affordability.”
Waitress Jess Kavanagh, 22, will be one of five staff starting at the first cafe with doors due to open in a fortnight.
She said: “I am really excited, this is a really good opportunity for the area and everyone I have spoken to is excited it’s opening.”
Grafters will mainly sell breakfasts but it will also offer a lunchtime meal deal where customers can get a sandwich, crisps and bottled drink for £1.99.
