NEW SONGS FOR BIG TOUR
ZAYN Malik has finally overcome his “crippling anxiety” and is set to perform live for the first time as a solo artist.
The former One Direction star unveiled new single Let Me yesterday, and is plotting a string of concerts in support of his second solo LP.
There are even whispers that he may make a surprise appearance at California’s Coachella Festival this weekend. Zayn, who previously cancelled numerous gigs due to anxiety, teased: “I’m in LA rehearsing for my tour.
“My confidence has definitely grown in the last year and a half.
Confident
“I’ve just been working on a lot of personal issues since leaving the band and really not knowing what’s going on for a while.
“But this time around I feel like I am more confident and I really believe in what’s going on, so I want to convey that to my fans.” The Bradford-born lad lives mainly in the US now but he’s still struggling to adjust.
Speaking to Nick Grimshaw on Radio 1’s Breakfast Show, he said: “I miss the accents and banter as sarcasm doesn’t go down too well in the States.”
Zayn recently split from supermodel girlfriend Gigi Hadid.
But she won’t be getting a courtesy call warning her about any songs written about her.
Zayn confessed: “I have let a couple of people know if songs are about them in the past – but it’s not always the wisest things to do.
“It complicates things so I tend not to do that any more. I’ll just keep it to myself.”
Zayn appears to have cast a Gigi lookalike in his Let Me music video, so she can probably work it out for herself. ¬
Let Me is out now.
