ALFIE DAD: TRY HIS DOCS FOR MURDER
Lad ‘is left struggling to survive’
ALFIE Evans’ dad called for his doctors to be tried for conspiracy to murder.
Tom wants charges brought over not allowing his son out of Liverpool’s Alder Hey Hospital for treatment in Italy.
The 23-month-old was said to be “struggling” last night after being taken off life support on Monday.
He is suffering from degenerative brain damage.
Mr Evans said: “Alder Hey has put their pride ahead of Alfie. What are they hiding?
“They don’t want him out of this door unless he’s dead.”
Last night Alfie’s parents lost their latest challenges to the travel ban.
Three Court of Appeal judges dismissed their pleas at a hearing in London which the mum and dad did not attend.
The court had heard there were “tensions” between the family and the children’s hospital.
Tom’s barrister Paul Diamond, from the Christian Legal Centre, said: “There is no hostility but within that process there are tensions.”
Mr Diamond said an Italian embassy representative was in court and an air ambulance was on standby at the “request of the Pope”.
The family said Alfie was taking food and water and is still breathing – to the “surprise” of medics.
Security staff were seen escorting two German air ambulance crew away from the besieged hospital yesterday after they were seen talking to Alfie’s family.
An Alder Hey spokesman said: “Our top priority remains in ensuring Alfie receives the care he deserves to ensure his comfort, dignity and privacy are maintained throughout.”
But a High Court judge has slammed a legal adviser to Alfie’s family, calling him a “fanatical and deluded young man”.
Mr Justice Hayden criticised law student Pavel Stroilov’s “malign hand”. The court heard that the adviser, who works for Christian Legal Centre, had been party to Alfie’s dad lodging a private prosecution of doctors.
AN online poll run exclusively by the Daily Star found over 92% of almost 5,000 Brits believe Alfie should be given a chance to fly to Italy for treatment.
