HEADLINING A BIG THRILL FOR ACE TILL
DARREN TILL says he will fulfil his dream when he tops the bill in Liverpool later this month.
The Scouser meets American Stephen Thompson at UFC Fight Night 130 in a welterweight clash at the Echo Arena on May 27.
And Till is still pinching himself at the prospect of featuring in a headline bout in front of his home fans in the first UFC show on Merseyside.
The 25-year-old said: “It really is a dream come true. “Lots of fighters dream of Las Vegas but, in all honesty, my dream has always been to top the bill in Liverpool.
“UFC Fight Nights are always great in terms of the fans, but Liverpool can take it to a whole new level.
“We Liverpudlians travel in armies and I think the atmosphere for this Fight Night will be a whole new experience for the UFC.
“I’ve been to so many great boxing nights at the Echo Arena and now I’m finally fighting there myself – it’s marvellous.”
Till has won four and drawn one of his five UFC bouts, the most recent win coming with a first-round KO of Donald Cerrone in October.
That success propelled him to No.8 in the

rankings and he now faces No.1 title contender Thompson (inset), who admitted last week he didn’t know who Till was. “I think it’s going to be the most interesting fight I’ll ever have in my life, just because of his fight IQ and mine,” said Till. “He’s a great striker and so am I. “I want to see who the best striker in the division is and I know I can show it is me. “My aim is not only to go all the way and win the title but it is to become the best MMA fighter of all time.”
