Lions out to hunt down Wolves

- By BRADLEY GAINS

PAUL GUEDE has told his London Lions team-mates to keep it going.

Guard Guede is celebrating after helping his side claim second spot, their highest-ever BBL finish.

The Lions now face Worcester Wolves in the first leg of the play-offs on Friday.

Guede said: “I’m extremely happy for the entire organisation on this accomplishment.

“A lot of changes happened this season for our team so it wasn’t easy but credit to the organisation as those changes were the right moves in order for this historical finish in the league for the club.

“We are excited for the play-offs to start.

“We just need to play the way we have been playing the last month, possibly pick up the intensity another level and we should be fine.”

Sheffield Sharks clinched the final play-off spot after bouncing back from five straight defeats to beat Glasgow Rocks 103-61. They now face league champions Leicester Riders in a repeat of March’s Trophy final.

“It was exactly the response we were looking for,” said Sharks coach Atiba Lyons.

“The energy was amazing and we were focused from the start.”
