Moyes in Hammer blow for Carroll

- By GEORGE SCOTT

ANDY CARROLL’S future at West Ham has been plunged into doubt after a training ground bust-up with David Moyes.

The Hammers striker faces a heavy fine after clashing with manager Moyes yesterday.

Carroll was fuming at being left on the substitutes’ bench in Sunday’s 4-1 loss to Manchester City at the London Stadium.

He left the bench and stormed down the tunnel before the end of the game.

And, 24 hours later, he is believed to have confronted Moyes, who gave him short shrift and sent him home early after the exchange.

After being banished from their Rush Green training ground, Carroll now faces a two-week fine and will be hit in the pocket to the tune of £200,000.

Following Carroll’s walkout, Moyes said: “It’s a situation I will deal with.

“In this situation, what you need is everybody to be a team member, so if he has done that, I’ll look at it and I’ll deal with it.”

It’s not the first time that the Scot has been at loggerheads with the ex-Newcastle striker.

He criticised Carroll soon after taking over at the Hammers in November following a defeat at Watford.

West Ham are still not out of trouble, sitting 15th but lying only three points above the relegation zone.

They travel to Leicester on Saturday, where Carroll’s participation will be in doubt, followed by home games against Manchester United and then Everton.
