A WHITE horse with wings leaps through the air, whisking an excited Cinders to the ball in her pumpkin carriage.

This is the “wow” moment of new pop-panto “Cinderella Rocks” for guests at Butlin’s resorts this season.

Mashing up classic fairytale with Saturday night-type telly fun, there’s also a hilarious wicked stepmum in drag, a pair of ugly sisters wearing wild wigs and a hunky prince who has a day job hosting a Britain’s Got Talent-style show.

A dazzling musical production, it’s one of the highlights of our multi-generation family trip to Skegness over Easter.

The other big event is seeing super-cool dance collective Diversity.

Queues to the enormous Centrestage venue had formed hours before they were due to perform, proving the inspirational act shows no sign of slowing down since they won BGT in 2009.

Led by Ashley Banjo and featuring his brother Jordan and Perri Kiely, their new Butlin’s spectacle features funky dance numbers as well as interactive games – one of which gets the audience playing a dance version of “rock, paper, scissors”.

Over the course of our three-night break, we also bop along to the music of Little Mix and McBusted as very convincing tribute bands take to the stage.

Plus there’s the brilliant Rocket Man show, a fast-paced, jukebox production featuring routines with multiple costume changes set to Elton John’s biggest hits.

In addition, our kids loved the Animal Antics night at the Redcoats’ own on-site venue, Reds.

When the park ranger host asks for a volunteer to help on stage, a room full of parents root for their children to be chosen. Little do they know that the lucky boy or girl must take an adult with them – only for a 10ft snake to be let loose on their bare chest!

This happens to one (un)lucky dad, prompting open-mouthed shrieks and cheers from the crowd.

Daytimes at Butlin’s Skegness are just as much fun, with a full-size fairground and smaller rides for little ones.

There are also indoor amusements, a soft play area, play sessions with the Redcoats, as well as organised activities run by trained sports coaches.

Its Splash Waterworld indoor waterpark, meanwhile, boasts indoor and outdoor lazy rivers, multiple flumes, a spacebowl, a family river-raft chute and a kids’ splashpool with slides.

Outside there’s a piazza-style fountain area for kids to jump around in while the grown-ups enjoy a pint at the Beachcomb-
