TV contract is a big deal for fight fans

- FRANK

THIS week we penned a new five-year deal with BT Sport and that’s only good news for boxing.

The contract will help us bring in even more big names as we continue to take on the competition with the sport booming.

Over the last 18 months we have already added some of the biggest names in British boxing to our everexpanding stable.

Tyson Fury, Carl Frampton, Josh Warrington (below) and Lee Selby are just four who have signed on.

Others in the sport would have loved to have got their signatures but they wanted to join our journey.

Frampton has already sold out the SSE Arena in Belfast and this summer Windsor Park will be packed to see him in world title action.

While Fury’s comeback on June 9 at Manchester Arena is the first step on the road to becoming world heavyweight champion again for him.

Warrington and Selby go toe-to-toe in our next big show on May 19 at

Elland Road, Interview by

CHRIS McKENNA which is sure to be a cracker.

Add those names to the stellar cast we already had, which includes WBO middleweight king Billy Joe Saunders and former title holders Liam Smith and Terry Flanagan, and it promises to be a special time for our stable.

But it’s not just about the established fighters – there are prospects like Jack Catterall, Ohara Davies, Anthony Yarde and Daniel Dubois to get excited about.

I’m extremely confident that with BT Sport as our partners we can lead the way in the sport.

BT Sport are also bringing in a pay-per-view channel soon which will help us land some of the biggest fights in boxing.

Meanwhile, tonight David Haye and Tony Bellew are in action, and this is a fight between two men past their best.

It will be intriguing to see what Haye has got left, because we never know if he’s going into a fight injured or not. If he is at 100 per cent he should win, but you never know with

Haye.
